PCSX2 SVN r3744 is released. PCSX2 is an open source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. With the most recent versions, many PS2 games are playable (although speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests for many games impractical), and several games are claimed to have full functionality.
PCSX2 SVN Changelog:
r3741
Remove some obsolete code relating to VIF/GIF FIFOs (hwRead/Write handlers always intercept them now, so saving values back to the eeHw register mirror is ineffective).
r3744
(u64*) [compilation error fix]

ReplyDeleteI don't wanna sound like a negative Nancy, but your computer sucks. Performance suffers because your cpu is slow (2.16ghz wtf?) and you use integrated graphics. I assume your using speed hacks already? Only fix is oc the crap out of your cpu and get a graphics card.
If it's a pre-built computer, and it probably is, then you probably wouldn't be able to overclock your cpu if you wanted to. It also means your psu is probably to weak to power a modern graphics cards. You need to build a new computer from scratch.
But your computer makes me think you don't do any gaming on it. I imagine email and porn, primarily the latter, is the purpose your computer serves. This means you probably have no idea how to build a computer and no motivation to do so, in which case you should wake from any dream involving your computer and this emulator running any game with acceptable fps.
Your welcome and happy holidays.
I can't play tekken tag, please can you check it
ReplyDelete2 cores @ ~3ghz is a min req
ReplyDelete4 cores @ 4ghz+ for comfortable play
Thanks dear Nichole.
ReplyDelete@Above poster, 4 core are not needed unless you are using software mode. The PCSX2 only supports 2 cores in hardware mode.

I'm sorry you found my post less than helpful. Your computer does, in fact, suck. Your alleged "knowledge" is still in question. Get a graphics card and overclock your processor.
ReplyDeleteTo run PCSX2 you just need a 3 Ghz core2duo with nvidia 8 series and up, and check some speed hacks options and can get 60 fps. The dual core is enough for some games if you put a fast graphic card, don´t need a quad core!
ReplyDeleteSaying you need 3-4Ghz is utter rubbish.
ReplyDeleteI have 2.677ghz CPU (Q9450) and I can run every emulateable game at good speeds (60fps most games while the most demanding games - Xenosaga for example - only dip to 55 for a few seconds each hour of play) presuming my config (speed hacks) is adjusted slightly per game.
2.1ghz IS low and will struggle with many games but you ABSOLUTELY do not need more than 2.6ghz and a quality CPU. (Architecture matters more than Ghz) Anything beyond a 8800GT is enough for all games graphic wise as well.
@Barking dog?(:D)
ReplyDelete"But your computer makes me think you don't do any gaming on it. I imagine email and porn"
Are you mentally retarted?
@2
You need a better cpu, my cpu runs at 2,86Ghz
(4 cores btw) and i play tag team matches without lags!
You can also try some speed hacks!
I can run some games at 20 fps with speed hacks on my crappy Pentium 4 with nvidia FX 5500 using speed hacks and native resolution, so I guess if I had a dual core I could easily get 50-60 fps! :)
ReplyDelete@Unknown
ReplyDeletethankx alot brother :)
@Unknown
ReplyDeleteOnly as "retarted" as someone who can't spell retarded probably is. I think it's safe to assume someone without a graphics card doesn't do any proper gaming. Emulation is another matter. Playing computer games is more gpu dependent and emulating is more cpu dependent. He has no graphics card therefore probably doesn't do any gaming.
Happy Holidays.
I have a Phenom x3 720 at 3.0 ghz I was running games, but not at full speed, there would be slow down. Also, I OC'd it to 3.4 ghz and everything runs flawlessly now
ReplyDeleteI have a 5850 Radeon Saphire Toxic Edition (not oc'd)
I find most PS2 games to be more CPU heavy than GPU heavy since my graphics card runs around 25% in the emulator. I hope this helps someone, also, with Intel CPUs you could get around a high 2's or low 3' ghz and be ok since they are always better and also Intel chips are supported more than AMD in this emulator.
Emulating everything at usually 100+ FPS with a few minor speed hacks on, 3.9Ghz Phenom II. Quad cores don't matter, the emulator will not use more then two cores no matter how much anybody convinces themself.
ReplyDeleteIs the Intel Core ™ Quad Processor i5 i5-760 well to this emulator?
ReplyDelete>and if u want to reply someone do plz reply like a human not like a barking dog...
ReplyDeleteI like how you have horrible grammar and spelling and are complaining about that, you must be 12 and are just mad because mommy won't buy you a better PC.
Also it's great to finally have Mediafire download links.
3.2 ghz core 2 duo req (^:
ReplyDeletei have i5 750 4.2 ghz not much difference with my 2nd config with a 4 ghz E8400
e8400 4 ghz cpu 65 70 % average
ReplyDeletei5 750 4.2 ghz 30 35 % average
finally all depends on the game that's for dragon quest 8
Surprisingly my gaming laptop can run most games at full speed with speed hacks enabled, i have in intel core 2 duo @2ghz, 4gb ram @1066mhz, gefore 9800gts 1gb video ram. . .even shadow of the colossus runs at 52-60 fps
ReplyDeleteLike #18 i can report this to be true(3,8Ghz PII user here).
ReplyDeleteAlthough, we both know pcsx2 works better on intels. If you have an intel always choose plugin SSE4.1.
let it be known to the persons speaking of hardware requirements that I myself can play comfortably with a 9500gt and a amd 7750be with 4 gigs of ram in balanced mode no less. build quality matters...
ReplyDeleteoh and that was kingdom hearts 2 on the 9500gt and amd kuma
ReplyDeleteWoo, 6 Cores at 4.3GHz rawks in software mode
