OpenMSX Git (2017/05/20) is complie. OpenMSX is an open source MSX emulator which is free according to the Debian Free Software Guidelines, available under the GNU General Public License.For copyright reasons the emulator cannot be distributed with original BIOS ROM images. OpenMSX includes C-BIOS a minimal implementation of the MSX BIOS, allowing to play quite some games without the need to have an original MSX BIOS ROM image. You can also use your own BIOS ROM image if you please.
OpenMSX Git Changelog:
* Improve WD2793 read-address command
The WD2793 read-address command didn't report sector headers that did not have
an accompanying data block (either because the data block is missing or because
the header itself has a CRC error).
Discovered while dumping 'Shrines of Engima' with 'DMK creator' on openMSX.
There's a sector-header with CRC error on this disk. Because of this bug this
header was not included in the dumped. Unfortunately the game itself doesn't
check for the presence of this header, so the wrong dump appeared to work fine.
* Do a full rotation is next sector == current sector.
Found by running AurorA's Ruby & Jade and Exor games. These disks have a copy
protection with a track with only a single sector on it. The next sector is
then a full rotation away, but a bug in openMSX meant it would not rotate at
all and that would take 0 time. But finding the sector is tried for 5
revolutions... so that would take forever. In fact, openMSX hung up here.
The solution is to let openMSX do a full rotation if it should move to the same
location, instead of no rotation. Thanks to Wouter for finding out this root
cause.
