Project64 Git (2015/01/25)

EmuCR: Project 64Project64 Git (2015/01/25) is compiled. Project 64 is a proprietary Nintendo 64 emulator for Windows. It employs a plug-in system that allows third-party software developers to create their own implementation of a specified component. Project64 allows the user to play Nintendo 64 games on a computer by reading ROM images, either dumped from the read-only memory of a Nintendo 64 cartridge or created directly on the computer as homebrew. Project64 started as an exercise by Jabo and zilmar in an attempt to see if they were capable of programming a Nintendo 64 emulator. It's open source now.

  1. I do not believe in N64 emulators anymore!

  2. speaking of speed fixes... ^^;

    please fix the timing in Mario kart 64 multiplayer mode :( I have read up on this on many forums, legend has it that it was a tweak by Nintendo to force multiplayer mode to run faster on real n64's. some n64 users claim that the speed up (particularly on dk's jungle parkway on multiplayer), even happened on real n64s. one person claimed that his friend's game ran too fast. this made me suspect that he was using a PAL version on a NTSC machine (though idk, point is it was noticeable on the real n64, more noticeable on wii's virtual console, and now even more noticeable with our blazing fast computer's--mine being 8 3.1GHz processors with 4095MB video memory).

    this happens on every single emulator, with every single plugin, on any region rom. yes altering vertical interrupts or region etc will vary the speed, but it will slow down single player or normal levels and it's cumbersome / not fun in multiplayer situations to exit to windows to change plugins or framerates on the fly.

    one person on a forum argued that it's precisely emulating the n64 hardware, which is true, but computers aren't that slow anymore and it seems to me that to remain true to the game in the spirit of good emulation this now needs a fix somehow. thanks!

    1. The developers don't come here to read bug reports. If you would like to see this get worked on you will need to report an issue in github.
