LaunchBox v3.5 is released. LaunchBox is a relatively easy to set up frontend for DOSBox. It has plenty of options and is very pleasing to the eyes.


New features for the actual app include an Options dialog with some quick debugging options for games, new Version and Game Manual fields, and even further optimizations that yet again significantly speed up the application.

LaunchBox v3.5 Changelog:

LaunchBox 3.5 improves performance with an adjustable RAM cache and fixes a few bugs with the RAM improvements from version 3.4. There’s a new RAM Cache tab in the Options dialog which allows you to specify a specific amount of RAM to set aside for image caching: The RAM Cache is of course optional, and can be turned off to revert back to the same functionality as 3.4. Be sure to upgrade, however, as a number of bugs were fixed that were causing some rare but random crashes. During the development of this release we introduced LaunchBox nightly builds. These builds are all considered to be beta releases, and may be broken; new ones may or may not show up each night. Feel free to download them and try bleeding-edge LaunchBox versions. If you do, please be sure to report your testing results on the LaunchBox Beta Testing forum, as we post them in order to get your feedback so we can address all possible issues before an official release. Thanks to the entire community for using, sharing, and helping to improve LaunchBox! We’re now growing at over 100 new users a day, with absolutely no end in sight.
