Snex9x with xBRZ scaler (2014/06/05) is complied. The xBRZ graphics scaler is now available for the SNES emulator Snes9x! The following Snes9x build is based on the latest source code from Github Snes9x (> snes9x 1:53) together with a few minor bug fixes from Zenju and uses the latest versions of the dependent libraries (zlib, libpng, CG, fmod). As usual xBRZ is implemented with full multi-core support, so that there should be no performance problems on modern dual or quad CPUs.

WOW! This is just beautiful, the text in games looks round and nice, the colors blend very well and no issues in overall performance.
ReplyDeleteIt is great. Some games don't look quite their best on 4x, which can round things quite a bit. Bilinear filtering is not needed with this filter. Games like Contra to me look near perfect at 2-3x. 4x is a little excessive. Mario games look great at whatever level. Yoshi's Island looks like a modern game with this filter and is not dated in the slightest. xBRZ is amazing. Too many purist haters out there have no idea what they are on about.
Delete4xBRZ makes your games look like play-doh, how can anyone ruin the original SNES art with a horrid over-exaggerated filter .
ReplyDeleteI know right xD
DeleteOr you know, don't use the filter since you seem to be bitter. How does that sound?
DeleteSounds great xD
DeleteDon't see the point in pointing out obvious things that ppl already do (or don't) though ;)
Amen miles. Looks like an abortion.
DeleteThis filter is literally the most accurate "playdoh" filter out there. It makes many games beautiful to look at. 4x is pretty strong and you can choose 2-4x.
DeleteI can't stand people that are against having choices. Some of us have large screens where these games look awful. xBRZ has made 2D games on PS1 and PSP down to all the SNES and Genesis games look a load better IMO.
Don't like the setting? Put it down to a lower level such as 2x. Or.... don't use the filter? A lot of these games look gross on large screens. To each their own.
If you don't like things excessively rounded then turn off bilinear filtering. xBRZ does not even need it really.
DeleteMetroid looks horrible without filtering as do most games on the SNES when you have screens that are 40 inches or bigger. The filter on 3x or 4x makes these games look near perfect. xBRZ does nothing but scale the pixels and smooth them without fault.... there is no vast deformation like these twits would have you believe. The game looks almost exactly as it did before. On 2x there is only a small difference. Bilinear with this filter smooths things probably too much. But hey it isn't needed.
It seems most of these people have never even used this filter. It's a massive improvement over anything out there. It speaks volumes to the ignorance of people saying this looks like an abortion. It's basically the savior of 16 bit games for a lot of us that don't want to watch gigantic pixels all day. It's an unspeakable improvement over the awful filters like hq. Give this a try and don't trust the kids here.
Looks good to me.
ReplyDeletelooks great on a 55 in tv. :-) it uses allot of resources. i finally got the sound where it sounds decent.
