Here's my new little project i'm actually working on...
A Flash MAME (and surely others emulators soon) Frontend... it supports any resolution as it's in Flash and can be stretched to whatever you want, full screen, even if it's actually developped in 1600x1200
It's simply called "MAMu_'s FFE", (Flash Front End), should work on both windows and Mac platform.
I use sed and awk, in a batch file (currently on PC but should be easily converted to a bash file for Mac, to extract game list from mame xml files in various txt files : full list, only mame, only mechs, no clones, etc...)
These txt files are loaded between 1s to 10s for a full list, mechs+mame+clones, depending on their size...
For its options actually you can choose to sort games by zip names or descriptions, i will add soon by years and by manufacturers...
There is actually one screenshot view mode, all loaded dynamicly behind rounded square mask , but I will add more soon... in order to display the ingames, titles and flyers...
To move in the list, it is entirely done with the keyboard, with 3 different speed modes... but of course, you will be able to use your mouse too...
It displays the game name (seems obvious) but also the logo of the manufacturer, all vectorized one by one
Here's a screenshot of its actual state :
And here's a preview of actual manufacturers logos used in FFE...
Should be released more or less soon...
Regards, MAMu_
