Dolphin Pre-Alpha v0.4 for Android is released. Dolphin is the first Gamecube emulator able to run commercial games! Dolphin is a Gamecube, Wii and Triforce (the arcade machine based on the Gamecube) emulator which supports many extra features and abilities not present on the original consoles. It has a partial Wii support and plays most Gamecube games.

This is currently in early beta testing, expect slow speeds, graphical glitches, and a myriad of problems with it. If you're expecting reasonable speeds out of this, you are sorely mistaken. This will run slow on every single Android device, no matter if it is the most powerful one in the world. Once we port our OpenGL plugin over, and you use a OpenGL ES 3 capable phone, this will improve a bit. http://wiibrew.org/ has a bunch of free homebrew applications to try out. One I particularly like to use is Starfield http://sonicadvance11.dyndns.org/starfield.dol Some caveats - It will crash. Alot. - Rotations don't work well or at all. - There isn't /any/ input - It might need to be force closed and ran multiple times to work. - It renders video with the CPU entirely with our VideoSoftware backend. Pros of this, is it will run on almost any hardware. if I can also play Wii and Gamecube on a mobile in 5 years, goodbye PC gaming
ReplyDeletePretty stupid comment. Just because mobile gaming will be advanced in 5 years, doesn't mean PC gaming is gonna die out. Most people would rather play on a pc with a nice big screen, than a small mobile device straining your eyes all day. Mobile is simply for on the go gaming, not supposed to be taken as the ultimatum way to play games. Unless of course the only gaming platforms you own is a mobile device, then I can see why you could make such a ridiculous comment with ease.
