Arcan v0.2.1 Beta 2 is released. Arcan a portable and fully scriptable frontend for launching games, emulators and other full-screen applications in a visual appealing way, as seamlessly as possible.
It is mainly targeted towards advanced hobbyists that wants to get their hands dirty and dabble with light programming as part of larger build projects e.g. HTPCs and gaming cabinets, and is as such not directly intended for "plug-n-play" type of use.
Features:
- Video playback
- LED Controller support
- Basic 2D features (animations, transformations, picking)
- Detailed event-model
- Scriptable (in LUA currently)
- Able to hijack rendering / input from launched targets and expose as scriptable entities
- OGG music / WAV sample playback
- Database backend
- Highly tunable performance characteristics
Arcan v0.2.1 Beta 2 Changelog:
- Per target/ and per game/ specific input in internal launch, added the option to reconfigure only players keys, both from global settings menus and from internal launch menus.
- Added setting to disable snapshot playback.
- Added a (configurable) scale effect to the grid cursor.
- The Bezel- scale mode now also looks for target (e.g. bezels/snes.png) bezels if there’s no game-specific one found.
- Updated libretro package again — minor fixes to VBA (sound)/FBA (rom loading, input, still iffy with neogeo bios versions though)/PCE cores.
