EmuPack v1.9 RC4 is released. EmuPack is a collection of emulators that have been developed by the emulation communities. An emulator is software that duplicates the functions of the hardware that it is trying to emulate. Basically emulators make it possible, for example, to play Nintendo or Playstation games on your computer. EmuPack is an installer script and frontend that attempts to create an out of box solution for emulation of multiple consoles and file type associations.
Changes since v1.9 RC4:
- Integration into Windows Default Programs is beta. - Right-click icons for File | Open actions. (Windows Vista and Windows 7) - Runtime files are now installed directly to System32 - Runtime installation is now configurable, but will still be installed with emulators that call for them. - Since EmuPack 1.8, I've dropped Magic Engine in favor of PCEjin and AppleII has been removed and files are now associated with AppleWin - Several filetypes have been added. As well rPcS3 which is a PS3 disassembler and O2EM which is an Odyssey 2 and Videopac+ emulator. - Several fixes include a few file icons changes, installer meta data, updated runtime files, links, and above all the script is ready for seamless upgrade to EmuPack 2.0 when it comes out. |
