EmuCR:PS2 emulatorPCSX2 SVN r4919 is released. PCSX2 is an open source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. With the most recent versions, many PS2 games are playable (although speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests for many games impractical), and several games are claimed to have full functionality.

  8. Pcsx2 is getting even and even better. I believe it's close to a clean 1.0 release with almost no bugs. Keep up the good job, pcsx2 team!

  9. come on guys if u dont like pcsx2 emulator just stop giving critics to this page site or even hypocritely download the "pcsx2" updated files, the programmer wont be motivated by your blabbermouth so please shut up will ya.

#5 If byuu is that “great” or even “god of emulation” or what the shit ever, perhaps you could ask byuu to fix pcsx2 emulator bugs/problems will you? nah... i dont think they could do it as better as pcsx2 team did.

  10. Guyz please comment on this......DOES MVUBLOCK HACK speed up the game or slow it down?....has it ever speed up ur games eg. GOW,MGS3,tekken5...plz reply i wanna know whether to check this option or NOT...thanx

  11. I tried the MVUBLOCK Hack and it doesn't make a difference (for me), but maybe i'm wrong.

  12. The problem with PCSX2 is that the minimum and recommended requirement is a QUAD CORE to run games at normal or proper speeds....For i3 or i5 users it still lags in MGS3,FF series....I personally tried VU Cycle Stealing to 2 in MGS3 and started seeing garbage on screen!!!! with little improvement in FPS....

  14. @13

Big part of the fun of using PCSX2 is to figure out the best settings yourself. Asking others for it is like cheating! Don't spoil it for yourself!

    @17

Why ask others and save the joy/frustration of seeing it for yourself? You are using a free emulator so trial and error is part of the game!

    @All

And please people, don't come with "I don't have the time nor the patience to test run a new build of PCSX2". If that's the case, what you're doing here anyway? :D

It's probably just one guy talking non-sense. Trolls will be trolls.

@ Anon 2 and some others

It's 1919. It's official. :p Check if you don't believe me. For example here
    (http://code.google.com/p/pcsx2/source/list)
    or
    (http://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/)

    @ Anon 16

It really isn't. You can run most games fine even with a dual-core (2.6 GHz +). It just depends on the dual-core, and up until recent more than two cores were almost useless (until MTVU). Not to flame or anything, just stating facts.

    @ People questioning some hacks...

Try it out for yourself. You can do it "on the fly". :p Damn right annoying. >.<

@ People trying to put some sense into some of the idiots.

I feel for ya guys. *thumbs up* :(

P.S. For all the whining people @ 1918... New svn is out! Yay? And also once again, I doubt 1.0(.0?) is coming anytime soon.

    Regards,
    Goran H.

jk, on more serious note, I think that's good, but maybe people with "name/url" should be also allowed to post? Just a thought.

  18. HI anonymous 18 and GORAN i m anon 16 again i agree with u guyz abt experimenting with the settings of PCSX2 and yes MTVU hack has certainly worked like charm for us i3/i5 users...but still 4CORE processor with multithreading(8 threads) is always considered best dont u think so.....ON A FUN NOTE listen to the song "all around me" by FLYLEAF u GUYZ WD like it surely thanx...gday

I'm glad it helped. Concerning the CPU requirement. I wasn't really saying what's the best, I was only saying what was required for optimal play on *most* games. And I played a really large amount of games on my AMD Athlon x2 6000+ (3.0 dual-core almost that's 4 years old), and I'm saying it on personal experience, as I've played ~80% of games I have at 55-60 FPS which is playable IMO (using various tweaks/settings but never sacrificing quality/gameplay experience (for example I always use 3x native res)).

On completely different note, I can't wait for Zambezi's (bulldozer architecture), more specifically FX-8120. But really all of them sound great. Eight freaking cores all @ high clocks (for 8120 it's 3.1 Ghz default, 4.0 Turbo Frequency). I mean speaking purely for using it for emulation purposes, it's all matter of number of cores (now with MTVU) / higher frequency's.

FX-8150 processor with 6 disabled cores was overclocked to staggering 8.429 GHz which is current world record(that I'm aware of). I mean, Intel is still most likely gonna beat AMD at high-range CPU, and dictate their prices however they want, but AMD is as always king of low-to-mid range CPU's. I mean FX-8120 that I'm seriously hoping to get is going to be around 200$. Need me to say more? Pardon me for going so off-topic but I'm having a nerdgasm. *facepalm* Also the most powerful Bulldozer is going to be clocked @ mind-blowing 3.9 Ghz(not officially confirmed though). Umm... I would say that's enough for AMD fanboyism today.

    and @ whiny people
stop bitching and have fun playing games on PCSX2 for free. Cause the only thing that's stopping you is most likely the "got to have a brain" requirement for you to use pcsx2 efficiently. So, I think you should get one(think they are selling them for a really low price on ebay >.>). Cheers

  21. The only idiot here is the one posting this "update" as if it was worth it, probably because he has no idea about what a DB is (or maybe did not read the changelog at all, )

I'm asking seriously: WHAT IS THE POINT of posting every daily revisions popping up on googlecode or other open-source repositories ? Those are meant to be DEVELOPMENT platforms, not stuff for people to "release". Just look for official releases that developers think are worth to release and STOP popping news out of your ass every time a dev is commiting a line of code ina public repository, this WON'T make you appear reactive or the best newser in the world, just a DUMB copy-paster with no brain

    ReplyDelete
  22. @ Anon 28

Please bang your head against a wall for a couple of times first, I mean for a chance to realize something simple as this. What's the point you ask? Well for starters, a lot of people (myself included) want to see how the project is progressing, also every now and then new features are introduced (like MTVU for example) and they are highly beneficial to users and they won't see 'em till new official stable version arrives, and they come out about every two years or so... and most importantly fixes/patches that make games playable, and ones that just fix bugs, texture problems etc. Aside from that (and maybe few other things I forgot to mention), I really don't see the point either. >.<

And I might be wrong, but a doubt "Nichole" is a name for a male person.
