PCSX2 SVN r4895 is released. PCSX2 is an open source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. With the most recent versions, many PS2 games are playable (although speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests for many games impractical), and several games are claimed to have full functionality.
PCSX2 SVN Changelog:
r4895
GSdx: bypass (prevent) some crashes.
Important: this is not a fix of the cause of the crashes, it just bypasses cases of sure crash. Once that spot is bypassed, things can go wrong elsewhere. Generally, however, things just continue normally. E.g. GT4 (camera changes), Tourist Trophy (camera changes), MGS3 (codec screen when CRC hacks are disabled) and probably more - now don't crash anymore, even at high resolution (but might still get some slowdowns).

ReplyDeletebyuu says this emu is shit because is not low level emulation and is full of fixes so the code is bad made, im with byuu bsnes aproach for every emulator please accurate as posible
ReplyDeleteIts better than nothing, but 2 branches (accuray & perfomance) off the emu will be an good option.
ReplyDeletedejen de hablar mierda este emulador funciona a la perfeccion es el mejor
ReplyDeleteIf you dont like this emu then buy ps2 slim, thats all. :)
ReplyDelete@ Anon #2
ReplyDeletePfffff, of course everyone would just love accurate emulation. But obviously it isn't practical right now and if bsnes serves as indication it won't be for a long, long time.
So good luck waiting for it...
If byuu says this emu is bad then why don't byuu take it over ? Or his own ps2 emu more accurate and see whats happening ? GRIN.
ReplyDelete@#2 stop talking shit when you don't even fucking know how "accurate" emulation works. bsnes is accurate, but you need at least a 4ghz processor to run "accurate" mode, and thats 4ghz for just an anses emulator. if pcsx2 was made to run 100% accurate it would run like shit on any pc thats out right now. but i guess that wouldn't matter to you much seeing as your pc is probably too shit to run pcsx2 as it is right now.
ReplyDeleteThis "accuracy" term gets thrown around a lot. But you know to the average person that's not an autistic OC savant - if a game looks sounds and runs like it does on original hardware (which many games do while running through pcsx), then that's as "accurate" as it needs to be.
ReplyDelete@anon 2 ,If byuu said pcsx2 bad emu Why byuu not make new ps2 emulator@anon 2 ,If byuu said pcsx2 bad emu Why byuu not make new ps2 emulator
ReplyDeletejajaja asi mismo tanta mierda que hablan nunca se conforman
ReplyDeletebyuu, have fun making bPcsx2 that only runs at 1 FPS on current PC hardware...
ReplyDeletei so really want to play god of war 1 pal on this emulator, but why thats green?how to config it?how to fix it?and what version of pcsx2 to play it?
ReplyDeleteBYUU > ALL OF YOU!
ReplyDeleteits simple 4ghz cpu runs accurate. but u they also fix the speed for 2 ghz cpu. not only for 4ghz. got that. but this is the best site for emulator. but need speed more for using 2ghz. thats all.
ReplyDeleteyou stupid cpu 3.0ghz is pcsx2 fast . . . .this emulator only for people genius in setting emu ps2. . .my cpu 2.8ghz is fast emulator . . . sorry my english bad. .

ReplyDeleteI will waiting for 1 week to fix. . .
Pleeeaasee fix it. . . .
Oh, guys, drop it. I dunno if byuu truly said that or not, but it's as idiotic as it could be.
ReplyDeleteWhile normal emulator with hacks and all could run SNES games on PIII/Duron or other CPU with around 700mHz bSNES in accurate mode needs 4gHz. It's very true that now 4gHz now starting to be not that big deal(though I still think that buying such CPU now only for playing 20 years old console games accurate is stupid) and that makes his point valid and of course preservation.
But where is point in making emulator which nobody would be able to run? We don't even know how many years would pass before CPU that will be able to run 2D PS2 game accurately with around 40/50 fps (not even full speed 50/60) will be made. So what's the point? To play game frame by frame? That will be shit, not the genial work of PCSX2 creators.
What or who is byuu?
ReplyDeletepls fix god of war 2 ghosting problem

sorry for double post.
Accuracy is pointless. Functionality is the goal.
ReplyDeleteIf "byuu" thinks making an accurate emulator is useful for anything other than improving his programming skills or pointless bragging........well he's not exactly the brightest spark.
Everyone wants an emulator they can use, not one that sits at 2fps on a 2D screen. What's the point regardless? If you had accurate ps2 emulation it would look like crap (think no scaling) and run like crap. PCSX2 actually manages to improve the original content, much like ZSNES does for SNSES. Byuu is clearly just butt-hurt.
Final note: PCSX2 can run in an accurate mode if you run in Interpreter instead of recompiler. Go ahead and give it a try and tell me why you still think it's a good idea.
to fix ghosting problem in god of war 2,click texture filtering in video plugin setting but make a little speed drop and use this pcsx2 r4875,ghosting is not problem for me. . .
ReplyDeletei try to use skipdraw to fix greenscreen god of war 1 pal, that fox and green. . . .
ReplyDeleteTo #29 if you don't like how emulators work use hardware. That's always the point. And if there was no fixes it would be something like pcsx2 0.9.4 now. I suggest using HEAD instead of modded ps2 for you. Try doing it once or twice and maybe you'll like it.
ReplyDelete(byuu's butt-hurt is obvious, maybe he's good in understanding how snes works, but his accuracy-mania, he's a prig)
#31 let me see, a moddem ps2 with matrix infinity is around $100 us maybe less , a computer capable of good speed with pcsx2 around $600 us + a decent graphic card another $200 so you just saying that you prefer to waste around $800 just to play some old ps2 games, yeah you are using your head there, and as this post proved, the emulator have tons of problems, and instead of playing, you will be wasting your time, working around and trying to figure out the configuration for every damn game, yeah im sure you are very brillant hahaha!
ReplyDeletenew egg prices btw, i dont know if you know a place where they sell cheaper
ReplyDelete#32
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know what you mean. People nowadays buy a PC mainly to run PCSX2. Why one would want ALSO to play the MUCH, MUCH better looking native PC games at all or maybe even other emulators?
Good point man... except what you said is absolute nonsense! :P
