EmuCR:Virtual JaguarVirtual Jaguar 2.0.0 r358 is released. Virtual Jaguar is an open source emulator based on Jagem (Virtual Jaguar) for Linux, MacOS X, and Windows. The source also compiles on BeOS. Virtual Jaguar is an awesome Atari Jaguar emulator with great compatibility.

Virtual Jaguar 2.0.0 is coming! We have a few more things to polish, like the configuration dialog, but once that's done we'll have an official release. We hope you like it!

  2. Hello
It would be nice to put the full path of a game in the command line and the emulation starts directly without doing anything else.

  5. How do you load a rom?
There's only "insert cartridge" option showing empty list, even with roms placed in roms folder.

  6. To load roms, you have to change the directory they're located in. Open the program and go to File, then hit configure. There you'll see some paths. Next to software, change the path to the folder where your roms are in. For example, i have a folder called roms within the VJ emulator folder. I just changed the path to-
    ./roms

That should do it. Make sure your roms are in the right file format to work. They should show up. Rayman works nicely. Bit choppy in the sound, not sure if it's my PC (which i doubt, i have a pretty fast laptop).

  8. Thank you, Granville! :)

Does anybody know what are the system requirements to emulate the games full speed?

My specs are Athlon AMD 64 X2 Dual Core 5200+, 4GB of RAM and NVidia GTS 8800 with 320MB of VRAM - the games run quite slow and the sound is very choppy. (I've tried Ultra Vortek and Kasumi Ninja.)

  9. This is a prerelease, so some things are still missing, like key configuration. The final release will fix all of this stuff and more, hopefully. :-)

The emu isn't multi-threaded yet, so the sound is choppy and any games that heavily use the blitter will be slow as it's not optimized yet. Please be patient as we work these issues out. ;-)
