PCSX2 SVN r4663 is released. PCSX2 is an open source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. With the most recent versions, many PS2 games are playable (although speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests for many games impractical), and several games are claimed to have full functionality.

theres something wrong with the framelimiter, because im playing dragon quest 8 (NTSC) and with the framelimiter on it micro lags and jumps from like 56fps to 67fps lol back and forth back and forth? but if i disable the framelimiter it stays at an even framerate(obviously faster) without random fps jumps or micro lag. Ive had this problem for a while now with this emulator since like 2 months ago, some games do it and some dont but it never did it before so idk.
ReplyDeleteive tried without any speedhacks, with speedhacks, super vu's, clamping ect ect nothing helps.
Using SSE2 gsdx because my phenom 1 doesnt have sse41....amd was retarded for that but whatever, calibre 9800 gt, 4gb ram, Win7 x64 2.2ghz overclocked to 2.64ghz.
Is there anyway to stabilize the framerate? Because it kills the game when my guy skips across town even when im getting good frames.
Oh and nice speed update, noticed a slight performance gain right away.
actually i just noticed the wait loop detection is causing it but when i disable the framelimiter no more lag or frame jumping. wtf? This doesnt make sense.
ReplyDeletedont know the reason, post your problem in the pcsx2 forums and maybe u will get an answer
ReplyDeleteThe frame limiter is kinda bogus. Have you tried out the Dynamic V-sync option on its own? (admittedly, I haven't myself)
ReplyDeletebut the pcsx2 team already left this emu
ReplyDeleteNo, only the main coder guy.
ReplyDelete4.9ghz...Intel 2600K processor (eg. i7 2nd Gen) overclock. Wasting a lot of energy more than actual PS2 console just to play old school console game...
ReplyDeleteDamn! Why there's no genius who knows how to make custom PS2 game engine for PC instead of blindly emulating the game >_<
(I'm Dreaming...Yes..I am..)
@ #9: Wasting more energy, but the games also look a lot better (well, not true for some).
ReplyDeleteBesides, going for emulation there's the obvious advantage: you don't need to keep a who-knows-when-it's-gonna-blow-up-cause-it's-10-years-old console around.
i already posted to pcsx2 and that wasnt any help lol they basically said i was lieing and that i had other speed hacks on when i specifically said i didnt but whatever guess i gotta deal with it.
ReplyDeleteand yea i tried the dynamic vsync doesnt help
ReplyDeletepls i need help i downloaded it but when i tried to launch it it gave an error saying msvcr100.dll and msvcp100.dll is missing even when they are present

????????????????????????????????????????????????
Have you noticed how many people have prolems with pcsx2? And the only answer they get is "Buy a ps2!" Actualy there is a conspiracy! It is no coincedence coders worked on ps3 backwards compatibility! Sony is paying off coders in order for them to stay lazy and has its stooges running around boards like this saying that buying ps2 is the only way.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are funny.
ReplyDeleteFunny, Anon4, this specific revision explicitly shows a SPEED UP. Way to read.
ReplyDeleteAlso, actually implementing all PS2 hardware in its entirety first is more important than making the rest faster, because the games will automatically start running better and better as more functions are actually implemented. And compatibility is priority anyway. Ie. you really don't know what you're talking about. ;)
