PCSX2 SVN r4656 is released. PCSX2 is an open source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. With the most recent versions, many PS2 games are playable (although speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests for many games impractical), and several games are claimed to have full functionality.
PCSX2 SVN Changelog:
r4656
GUI: BUGFIX: (Save)State in GS window title can get out of sync with actual current slot (after loading/saving state via the menu).
Details:
- It seems that due to legacy reasons, Lilypad is setting the current state at the GS window title, as a hack which is enabled by default (at Lilypad's main GUI tab). However, it's buggy because it only changes the display when (shift/)F2 is pressed, while the current slot actually also changes when loading/saving state via the PCSX2 main menu, so it can get out of sync (possibly with unpleasant results, especially when saving). Now it's disabled by default at Lilypad, and if enabled, displayed as "State(Lilypad)".
- PCSX2 itself now properly handles the current State slot at the GS title window.
Note: ZeroGS still changes its title independently (not via the "standard" PCSX2 mechanism) so Lilypad's title hack might still be useful for it. However, it's still buggy and can get still out of sync.
TODO: Remove this option completely from Lilypad because it's buggy? ZeroGS can still use it, but I think it can cause more harm than good. What do you think?

ReplyDeleteI think you should quit wasting time and fix some actual games.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous #3,
ReplyDelete*FACEPALM* You should quit read it for Nicole only complied the version. You need to go to Source above and link and tell them about it or buy PS2 SLIM if you want to play some actual games.
I mean #2 and not 3. Sorry. *ROLL EYES*
ReplyDeleteAs if I didn't know that. I post on official forums everyday and not a single issue I brought up has been properly adressed much less resolved. It is always someone like you from peanut gallery who thinks he holds the answers replying. Pcsx2 team don't read their own forums so I post here. I don't really care much at this point as I've already completed all the games I wanted to play except for one that has a critical bug that coders avoid adressing like a plague for 3 years now. Anyway ps2 is dried-up fruit for me, so screw you and thanks for wasting your time and mine.
ReplyDeleteNope, those words don't apply to me as you are the one who lost an argument (if one can even call it that) and now you are behaving childish.
ReplyDeleteI agree bug reporting to the PCSX2 team is a lost cause. They treat all outsiders with disdain and care not what you have to say. Sadly some of the coders that work on the team; mostly ones that do only light work on it are on other projects that seem much more open to suggestions and having anyone point out flaws in emulation. OH well they don't want any help they just won't get any.
ReplyDeleteSad I would love to see as much progress as possible but who knows maybe they are just that busy on what they have already found needs fixing. At least they could say that to people trying to help
To all who are bitching and whining above.....
ReplyDeleteDonate some money to these coders and maybe they can spend a bit more time on fixing the real big bugs, just like this site; the web admins / mods ask for donations because what thy are doing for you takes time to be done properly.
These folks could be working part-time or not working at all and doing this for free because they enjoy what they do but douche bags like you people above slowly suck the enthusiasm out what they do with all your bitching and complaints.
If you have an issue then do the following:
- Download the source
- Install Visual C++
- Open up the source
and
- FIX THE FUCKING BUGS YOURSELF!!
or
- Install SuSe or Ubuntu Linux (I prefer SuSe)
- Download the source for Linux Distro's
- Open up Vi
and
- FIX THE FUCKING BUGS YOURSELF!!
If you had to pay for this prog' (like project64 1.7) then it would be a different story but.......
WE ARE ALL GETTING THE PROG' FOR FREE SO BE GRATEFUL YOU UNGRATEFUL FUCKWITS!!
Kind of upset I wasted my time typing because I know some trolls are gonna just keep on bitching, oh well I did try to help!
WAAAAAAH DO WHAT I WANT WITH YOUR FREE TIME, WAAAAAH!
ReplyDeleteTHE ONLY REASONABLY GOOD PS2 EMULATOR ISNT PERFECT ENOUGH, WAAAH!
Honestly, some people...
And some people just knock other people using defense of the coders as an excuse and meanwhile coders don't care either way and pcsx2 still doesn't progress.
ReplyDeletedoes ibara work well

ReplyDeleteHey, man, I want some of my games to work too (namely Raw Danger, although that seems like a GSdx issue), but this program is coded for free for those people who want to use it. Really, when it comes down to it, though, at least sixty-five times out of hundred times your games will run well.
Don't ask what the coders can do for you, ask what you can do for the coders. Or something like that.
Asked them multiple times, didn't receive an answer. They don't read their own forums. They don't care.
ReplyDeletewith the emulator has everything okay let's have the game fix
ReplyDeletecould somebody compile a linux version of this release.
ReplyDeleteThanks
