PCSX2 SVN r4392 is released. PCSX2 is an open source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. With the most recent versions, many PS2 games are playable (although speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests for many games impractical), and several games are claimed to have full functionality.

It's not like that guy was the only person working on emu and he lost interest in project long before he got married. But I have to agree with you that pcsx2 team is a bunch of lazy asses. Just when team Playground's promising version of pcsx2 started to overtake the original, pcsx2 team decided to absorb Playground into their ranks. Now playground is also infected by pcsx2's laziness and no stable build has been released since then. I just use playground's old builds since they are stable and fast with current plugins and hope that some other pcsx2-unrelated team wiill pick up where Playground left off. (don't point me to ValDanX - that's basically even more unstable and buggy version of current unstable pcsx2 based on absolete source-code).
ReplyDeleteguys experimenting again, with gui this time. so better to not dl theese revs :)
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, we can't "code", but you can't read, which is even more embarrassing. Our dissatisfaction was clearly aimed at pcsx2 team for their lack of progress for the last 2 years and Nichole has nothing to do with them. I appreciate the time and effort Nichole puts in emucr but I am not Amos to mention her in every post. I've given up on pcsx2, but if some pcsx2-unrelated team will pick up where Playground left off - they will have my full support.
ReplyDeleteThey are actually right, you know. The devs are too busy in rl and have no passion for their project. Since 2186 beta all the changes were mostly cosmetic with a few modifications (that made emulation speed slower overall) and no progress compatibility-wise. If it din't make sence to you, then you a noob yourself.
ReplyDeleteYou tried to be sarcastic, but unknowingly for yourself spoke the truth of the matter. You see, I used to be one of the testers (and I didn't beg for any fixes, I was asked to be a tester because of my personal collection of imported games) for pcsx2. I submited my reports on official forums in proper form - with system configuration, logs etc. The games in question didn't just glitch, they simply didn't work, some of them couldn't even get to title screen. Devs replied with their usual: "We are curently too busy. Changes to the code will be implemented at a later date." It's been almost 3 years since then and apparently they are still "too busy" as those games are still unplayable. So, Anonymous-9, you are right - pcsx2's devs are lazy and useless. And before someone asks - I have a PS2, an imported NTSC/J and unmoded btw.
ReplyDeletethx guys, yall just make my day w your posts
ReplyDeleteAlways happy to help out a noob.
ReplyDeleteHey dimm witted Anonymous... #1 right up till #12. When you can make a fully functional PS 2 emulator whilst juggling nomal lives and even a job; with 0 lag, then you can call them lazy otherwise shut your wise arse crack and stop complaining.
