bsnes v076 is released. bsnes is an emulator for the Super Famicom and SNES video game systems. The purpose of the emulator is a bit different from other emulators: it focuses on accuracy, debugging functionality, and clean code.
bsnes v076 Changelog:
Most notable in this release is that sound support has been added to my own Super Game Boy emulation. The GUI toolkit, phoenix, has also received a complete rewrite; with the most visible change there being that windows are now resizable. Changelog: - added sound emulation to Game Boy core - fixed Super Game Boy save state support - added HexEdit widget to Windows and Qt targets; debugger can now be compiled on all platforms - entering fullscreen now auto-hides mouse; and mouse capture is toggled otherwise by F12 key - fullscreen command and geometry caching works much better on GTK+ and Qt targets - phoenix rewritten from scratch; now supports resizable layout containers - phoenix/Windows no longer relies on buggy SetParent API to reparent widgets |

slow and bad emulator , use snes9x instead
ReplyDelete^
ReplyDeleteSlow because your computer isn't fast enough..
And did you know its the most accurate snes emu..
Be glad that there are more snes emu's around then snes9x ;)
Snes9X is much better!
ReplyDeletethe only good version of bsnes is 0.73 Qt with performance profile, fast, works good and support compressed roms.
ReplyDeleteIt is an excellent emulator.
ReplyDeleteSome of you dont understand the conception of this emulator. It is an accurate emulator not like Snes9X and ZSnes but they are good for slow computer. This emulator is good for faster and newer computer only. :)
I have a fast and new computer and i still prefer version 0.73, I fully agree with #5.
ReplyDeletezsnes is bad, bsnes is yong but it s a great emulator for super gboy support...
ReplyDeleteYoung? bsnes was started in 2004.
ReplyDeletei know, but snes9x and zsnes were startet in 1996
ReplyDeletenr2 so.. because your computer is slow..
ReplyDelete(yes a q6600 is midrange now)
and.. bsnes is bad..
(Can you write a emu yourself..)
and so.., we must have no respect for the one who is making it..
I remember when snes9x was to heavy for any pc..
^ nr3 i meant because nr1 is the same person..
ReplyDeleteI am only 2,11 and 12..
ReplyDeleteThat "stupidity" is true.. It sound stupid 32mhz vs a "q6600" i know but since you are blaming me for all of this..
I was just giving you "info"..
I didn't mean to upset u..
what does "accuracy" mean to you ; even if you cannot understand the difference in any fcking way ??
ReplyDeleteIn emulation , we want to enjoy the games , right ? not for masterbation of freaky accuracy fetischizm
?
Snes9x rocks forever
Off course i love snes9x, zsnes ;)
ReplyDeleteI use always "Snes9x fix 4" and not "Bsnes"..
But that doesn't mean "Bsnes" is bad because it is not a performance emulator.
If you could make a emulator i'm sure it will be fast enough to run under today systems.
Bsnes has another approach..
It is already on a level of accuracy where it is almost emulating everything so it cannot be any better. After all features are implemented i'm sure they can make it faster..
"Dolphin" is a nice example..
Its now on a Snes9x level with everything hardware accelerated..
But to emulate all games perfect you need to make performance sacrifices.
But luckily for us they go with the hardware we "now have"..
But.. Snes9x rocks forever ;)
Sorry to say that Snes9x will never be rock forever, the Snes9x emulator is already outdated and only suitable for outdated computer as well as the Zsnes.
ReplyDeleteFor every console system that is being emulated to computer is very important to be in a very accurate state at least in 98 to 100 percentage.
After reaching that accurate percentage than all other nice features can be added in such as fast forward, save state, and etc.

ReplyDeleteA Q6600 is not fast enough for this 5h1tty junk??? Well f**k you!"
bsnes slow? Are you on drugs or something? Did you dowload the 64-bit build by mistake?
The 64-bit version is only for developers, not for gaming.
The 32-bit version is up to 5 times (!) faster than the 64-bit versiopn and is recommended for 99.9% of users. Download that one and see how fast it runs on your Q6600.
Just because you have a 64-bit CPU doesn't mean that you *MUST* use the 64-bit version.
The 32-bit version runs at full speed on a shitty 8-year old single core Athlon XP. Yes, it's *THAT* fast.
And this is why accuracy matters:

Still using snes9x or zsnes? This article will change your view of emulation.
it run @ 57 fps with some filters on 3.2ghz athlon 64 single core (x86 version) maybe performance profile runs faster, but if the main programmer is reading this please ADD SUPPORT FOR ZIP-COMPRESSED ROMS!!! Its a pain in the ass decompress and change extension to .sfc everytime i want to play something!!!
ReplyDeleteThe only bad thing about this emulator is the creator himself... why he must be so bitchy about it? He goes out of his way too much to just diss the other emulators, while they more or less do their job fine for most of the good stuff in the SNES library.
ReplyDeleteSure, accuracy is important, but when the only games that actually NEED it are just a bunch of unknows and terrible games, I'd say what the hell.
That said, the emulator is indeed awesome... if you have a pretty decent machine. Otherwise stick with SNESGT and SNES9x. Unless you crave for a Speedy Gonzales fix.
is the most accurate snes emu indeed but is the most slow on old cpus example: http://i.imgur.com/BWh1N.jpg running on bsnes 0.76 x86 version on overclocked P4 @ 3.3 ghz Zsnes run this game @ 60fps (min. 55fps) ATM im using zsnes instead this.
ReplyDeleteMy AMD Phenom x6 runs this emulator at about 20 FPS. What gives?
