Zsnes SVN r5304 is released. Zsnes is a Super Nintendo emulator programmed by zsKnight and _Demo_. On April 2, 2001 the ZSNES project was GPL'ed and its source released to the public. It currently runs on Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, and DOS. Remember that this is a public beta so don't expect this to run on your machine.
Zsnes SVN Changelog:
r5300
Commented out Qt stuff in makefile.ms. Moved code from newgfx16.mac to newg162.mac to remove some deps from newg162.asm. Some code cleanup.
r5301
Update for newer CPU Flags. Not even in Linux yet.
r5302
Improve binary search. Trim whitespace. Remove unused define.
r5303
Flush output before launching external application to avoid corrupted output on some systems.
r5304
Remove unsed extsym.

ReplyDeleteThe Best Emulator Super Nintendo!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nic
Kiss
The best? Never with this ugly GUI! :P
ReplyDeleteSnes9x is more better for graphics plus has full modify cheat codes function. ZSNES doesn't support fully support modify cheat codes except modify cheat value only. Can't modify address... :(
ReplyDeleteBsnes IS the most accurate emulator out there and thats a fact, it may need a reasonably fast PC but if you want the best emulation out there then Bsnes is the one AND it has 3 versions so that even a slower PC can run just as fast but the core is less accurate.
ReplyDeleteWhy is there still no bloody sound? I don't get it.
ReplyDeletePeople this is DOS version don't expect to run it ok on windows
ReplyDeleteZSNESw works good on windows but this isnt it

ReplyDeleteNo sound because this release suxx tĂȘte de marron
ReplyDeletethe best version under xp is the zsnes 1.52 r4538 with sound
ReplyDeleteThe new z is b, move with the times and more precise emulation!
ReplyDeleteZsnes was the best for many, many reasons, it was the first with super fx, c4, etc, the first with noise emulation and other such things. However, Bsnes is BY FAR, the best now. Speed of ones computer is the ONLY limiting factor, It emulates every snes cpu cycle and it renders per pixel rather then per scanline. There is no comparison in terms of accuracy, features, yes, but not accuracy.
ReplyDeleteIf you write hacks, translation patches with zsnes in mind, they may not work on a real snes+copier, if you write them and they work on bsnes, they will.
BTW Nichole, there is a bunch of alternate builds of Bsnes with the old, more feature rich gui from .70 and the new core of .72, Byuu decided to ditch the 2 slower cores and some features and only work on accuracy and nothing else so the official bsnes .71 and newer reflects this, only loads the newer, more accurate .sfc format and is also, only 64bit.
Here are builds that a forum member built having all of .70s features on .72s core, both 32 and 64 bit:

Question but if the ZSnes source code isn't "freely" available any longer via SVN/CVS, doesn't this mean the project can't be classified as Open-Source and doesn't comply with the GPL license?
ReplyDeleteOkay if everyone claims Zsnes SVN r4538 is the best version, with sound, why is it impossible to find on here?
