PCSX2 SVN r3625 is released. PCSX2 is an open source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. With the most recent versions, many PS2 games are playable (although speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests for many games impractical), and several games are claimed to have full functionality.

I wonder if the PCSX2 developer stop developing DX9?
ReplyDeleteCause the difference between DX9 and DX10/11 definitely pretty big, >10 FPS in comparison between DX9 and DX10/11.
BTW, i'm not asking. Just talking to myself.
lol ! XD
ReplyDeleteyou're probably right! anyway, everyone is almost on directx 10 or 11, so directx 9 becomes useless! ^ ^
It's ONLY because DX10/11 requires Vista/7, and some people are still using XP, and I don't blame them really... However, i feel that they can jump to Windows 7 anytime they're ready.
ReplyDeleteDX9 is very useful for Windows XP users, as microsoft isn't smart enough to release DirectX 10 and 11 for Windows XP. Besides, I trust Vista/Windows 7 as much as I trust a King Cobra, or other deadly creature, and that's no trust at all currently. Vista is but an upgraded re-skin of XP, but is terribly bugged, Windows 7 is having it's bugs, and many support issues for certain useful programs and other stuff too.
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't know too much about Windows 7 currently, but I say Windows XP Rocks.
You don't know about NOTHING, actually. Vista is a whole new kernel version (6.0 vs. XP's 5.1). Windows 7 is going great, and it is quite a lot stable for a... Windows.
ReplyDeleteAs XP, it's a revision of the kernel - W7 is version 6.1, so they ook their time taking the bugs and some nasty Vista stuff off.
Try to read a little before writing so much nonsense.
still shit and slow on my amd 4 core config ati 4670 qgb ddr3... every hacks on i got shadow of colossus without enemy 60fps and with enemy 50 fps
ReplyDeleteFinal fantasy x run great sometimes, someplace SLOW as HELL Final fantasy XII SLOW as HELL......50fps...
oh yeah and xenosaga series runing SLOW as HELL.....
ReplyDeleteokay windows 7 is by far the best os, its a really optimized version of vista,I havent seen any bugs or issues? and ive had 7 since the day it came onto newsgroups, DX11 is no joke man
ReplyDelete@anon with 4 core amd
ReplyDeleteXenosaga series need monstrous machine, Monstrous DX10 graphic card, and your luck.
Why don't play it at your console then? Or you don't had one?
Are you sure your configuration wasn't the one that make game look like a crap?
the developer of gsdx, gabest, has taken a break from working on gsdx. which is why it hasn't been improved that much for a while.
ReplyDeleteif you wanna run pcsx2 good get a powerful dual core. e8xxx procs overclocked run a ton of games really good.
ReplyDeletexenosaga isn't that resource intensive. cutscenes run a little slow but the rest of the game run pretty good.
pcsx2 recommended os vista
ReplyDeleteIs that so? But the Developer say it need around 3.5 Ghz or more to play it remarkably, and that still had some slowdown in some area.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I know. Tough, there's one person who say it can run remarkably with 3.0 Ghz at PCSX2.net
I believe there's time when this emulator need less requierement for some game. At least, a little. XD
Anon #6 & #7
ReplyDelete50 FPS is "slow as hell"?? That's 83% of the full speed in a NTSC game (supposed to run at 60 FPS).
And you say you have "all hacks on". Speedhacks doesn't always mean "better speed"; some of them can make certain games run worse, and if you are activating ALL of them and using the full value in both sliders no wonder most games will not look good.
Also I have a 3 year old processor and I'm able to play SotC, FF-X and FF-XII with decent speeds. My video card is exactly the same as yours. So it is not the emulator's fault.
direcx not only just but also be aware of setting gsdx
ReplyDeleteThe more graphics and special effects are emulated the bigger CPU power it requires to run the game. So that's why some game parts are slow and some run quite fast. I want to remind you that this is an emulator still under huge development. You may want to wait for a couple of years for the programming, upgrade your machine, or better yet...pay more attention to the real world.
ReplyDeletei will examplize motogp2008 some games eg when fine weather with good fps game gsdx hardware settings but when the weathers becomes rainy game is so slow and then i though a minute and i found the solution turned out by setting gsdx to software problems can be resolved back to normal game
ReplyDeleteyepyep i agree with all thy saying that
ReplyDelete@valeth, yepyep, and moh erbil
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. LOL. XD
OMG ! full of people talking, it animates EmuCR more! good! ^ ^
ReplyDeletego buy a windows 7 final build (7600) it is more fast and optimized than the previous ones. i'm using it right now.. the warez version :P
ReplyDeletemore games ex: bleach please use gsdx to software
ReplyDeletemore games: ex worms forts please use plugin zoogl dont gsdx
ReplyDelete20+ comments and no "OMGfzW PLZ FIxZ DIs GAME"?
ReplyDeleteThis is a glorious day indeed.
XD !!!
ReplyDeleteand more people use nicknames! Soon we may be a true and great community! :D
Hoho... it's getting better ^^ with dx10/11
ReplyDelete@Firozt,valeth,JOJO,yep yep and Moh Erbil
Totally agree too :D
yea i definately agree with everyone you can put all the speed hacks on an expect the game to run pristine. your computer's specs are a big part of emulation but also all the other settings and plugins you have to mess around with for things to work at least partially better. Like for instance persona 3 fes, not sure what svn but was about a half a year ago, i got a 12 fps increase from switching from spu-2 to peops sound plugins, but thats my comp, all computer setups handle tasks differently.
ReplyDeletecant put all speed hacks on*** sorry my mistake lol
ReplyDelete"the developer of gsdx, gabest, has taken a break from working on gsdx. which is why it hasn't been improved that much for a while."
ReplyDeletegreat :(
remember who also took a break from developing things for a while ? the internet explorer team back in the day. it ended up halting web progress and was overtaken by firefox etc.
You who write comments about the fix you learn alsri and is really rough.
ReplyDeleteDo not play dumb
